Marc Jacobs Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder

Marc Jacobs released the New Accomplice instant blurring beauty powder, part of their new accomplice collection. The collection itself looks like it is designed to be more practical, functional makeup in design. For this powder, they took a little risk making it not fully a matte blurring powder but instead making it have a slight sheen. What are my thoughts lets get into that.

Overall aspects of this powder; it does a beautiful blurring affect, but does not leave a very matte look to the face. This powder has a slight sheen to it, giving your back a healthy glow to the face that is much appreciated. The design of this product is extremely innovative and useful, the detachable brush connected to the compact is not only useful but extremely well thought out. The only thing with the brush is, the fan shape is not the most useful for everyday application, but is nice to touch up makeup on the go.

Answering some of your questions:

  1. How does it compare to the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Powder? They both have a very similar formula when it comes to consistency, the are both silky and glide onto the face without leaving a cakey look. The biggest difference between these two products is the Accomplice has a slight sheen to the powder where as the charlotte tilbury is very Matte.
  2. Would the powder be able to be a highlighter for fair skin?) No, The sheen within the powder gives a nice glow, however there is not enough reflects to do a good highlighting affect.
  3. Does it blur? It does blur the skin and give a nice look, however there is a sheen therefore textured skin, may see some texture. I can only speak for my skin and I did not see an emphasize on my texture. In natural daylight, my skin had a sheen look, but not texturized, in my studio lights my skin did look a little more texturized, however studio lights are super bright. Now if you have fine lines, or mature skin, sometimes matte powders look to dry and this powder maybe great for you!
  4. Does it emphasize pores? I didn’t see any emphasize on pores, I do think the charlotte tilbury powder blurs pores more.
  5. How does it compare to the Laura Mercier Translucent powder? They are pretty different I think, The Laura Mercier is more matte than this powder. Also the accomplice does not have a translucent affect, there is a undertone base color to the powder.
